HAWTHORN PORK SOUP

INGREDIENTS :

500g lean pork, 30g hawthorn, 30g reed root, 2 red dates, 6 jujube, 5g wolfberries, 5g sweet almonds, 12 cups of water.


SEASONINGS:
1t salt.

PREPARATION :

1. Rinse lean pork; Cut into pieces; Blanch in boiling water for 1 minute; Lift the pork up immediately and rinse in cold running water till cool; Drain.
2. Rinse reed root and drain.
3. Rinse hawthorn and drain.
4. Wipe clean jujube with kitchen paper.
5. Wipe clean red dates with damp kitchen paper.
6. Rinse wolfberries and drain.
7. Rinse sweet almonds and drain.
8. Pour 12 cups of water to a pot; Bring to the boil over a high heat; Turn to a low heat; Add all the ingredients; Bring to the boil over a high heat again; Cook over a high heat for 10 more minutes; Turn to a low heat; Cover the pot with its lid; Cook over a low heat for 2 hours; Uncover; Add seasonings; Stir over a low heat till well mixed; Turn off the heat; Serve hot.
