SEASONED TOFU

INGREDIENTS :

510g firm tofu, 2 cloves of garlic, 4 stems of spring onion, 2T sesame seeds, 1T oil.


SEASONINGS:
2T soy sauce, 1T sesame oil, 1t Korean hot red chili pepper powder.

PREPARATION :

1. Heat a non-stick skillet over a high heat; Add sesame seeds; Stir-fry over a high heat till dry; Turn to a medium heat; Stir-fry till golden and fragrant with a crackling sound (around 20 minutes); Turn off the heat.
2. Drain tofu in a colander.
3. Rinse and cut off spring onions; Chop.
4. Peel, rinse and mince garlic.
5. Add the garlic and seasonings to a bowl; Stir to mix well; Add the spring onion; Stir to mix well.
6. Cut the tofu in halves lengthwise; Slice.
7. Add 1T oil to a non-stick pan; Heat over a high heat; Turn to a medium-low heat; Arrange the tofu into the pan; Pan-fry over a medium-low heat till crispy (roughly 5 minutes); Flip over; Pan-fry over a medium-low heat till crispy (roughly 4 minutes); Turn to a low heat; Pour the sauce from the step 5 over the tofu evenly; Cover the pan with its lid; Steam over a low heat for 3 minutes; Turn off the heat; Arrange on serving plates; Serve immediately.
