FIVE GRAIN RICE

INGREDIENTS :

1/2 cup of red beans, 1/2 cup of black soy beans, 1 cup of millet, 3.5 cups of Korean short-grain rice, 1/2 cup of glutinous rice, some oil.


SEASONINGS:
6 cups of water, 1 cup of broth, some salt.

PREPARATION :

1. Rinse red beans; Soak in cold water for 24 hours;
2. Rinse black soybeans; Soak in cold water for 1 hour.
3. Wash glutinous rice under cold running water till the water through it is completely clear; Leave in the strainer to drain for
60 minutes.
4. Wash rice under cold running water till the water through it is completely clear; Leave in the strainer to drain for 60 minutes.
5. Lift the red beans up and drain.
6. Lift the black soybeans up and drain.
7. Wash millet and drain.
8. Add some oil to a non-stick heavy-based pot; Swirl the pot around; Add the black soybeans, the red beans, rice and glutinous rice; Add seasonings; Bring to the boil over a high heat; Turn to a low heat; Cover the pot with its lid; Cook over a low heat for 20 minutes; Uncover the pot; Add the millet; Cover the pot with its lid again; Cook over a medium heat till all the grains are well done (approximately 16 minutes more); Turn off the heat; Serve hot.
